Staffordshire Bull Terrier
The Staffordshire Bull Terrier also know as Staffie, Stafford, Staffross, Staffy or Staff is a medium sized, short-coated, breed of dog, originally used for dog fighting after bull baiting became illegal. An English breed of dog related to the Bull Terrier, and much like the American Staffordshire Terrier and the American Pit Bull.
When dog fighting also became illegal, the Staffy evolved into a dog with a temperament suitable for a pet and companion.
It was accepted by The Kennel Club of the United Kingdom as the Staffordshire Bull Terrier in 1935.
